BAPCO Organisation
As a not-for-profit organisation, BAPCO is an independent, user-led organisation that provides a forum for professionals in the field of public safety communications and information management technology, to exchange ideas, information and experiences.In partnership with the industry, it maintains regular liaison with manufacturers and other commercial bodies, such as consultants, to monitor developments in technology and future planning.
BAPCO's mission is to:
- Promote the development of efficient and effective communications and information technologies to provide value for money systems
- Promote the rapid and accurate exchange and dissemination of information relating to public safety communications and information technologies
- Maintain an effective relationship with the communications and information technology industries
- Provide support and advice to the policy-making bodies of each participating public safety service
Membership of BAPCO is open to all persons associated with the provision, manufacture and use (i.e. managers, engineers, programmers, communications operators and end users) of public safety communications and information technology.
BAPCO is a founding member of the APCO Alliance for Global Co-operation and Development, which has collective membership of 18,000 members. As members of BAPCO, individuals become an important part of a network of public safety communications and technology professionals.
Individual experience, knowledge and expertise combined with that of other members helps to achieve the goal of excellence in public safety.
